Vitamin E
Vitamin E — in skincare
Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a fat-soluble antioxidant that skin also has naturally in its surface oils. In skincare it helps protect both skin and the formula from oxidation caused by sun and air, and it softens and conditions. At Baseshop you will find it mostly in sunscreens, where it adds antioxidant support to the UV filters.
What it does for skin
Vitamin E helps neutralise free radicals from UV and pollution, supports the skin barrier and leaves skin feeling smoother and softer.
Who it suits
Most skin types, especially dry and normal skin. In light formats, such as sun sticks, gel essences and oil-control creams, it suits oily skin too.
How to use it
In the morning, finish your routine with an SPF50+ sunscreen and reapply every two hours outdoors; a sun stick makes it easy to reapply over makeup. Vitamin E pairs well with vitamin C, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.
Korean products with it at Baseshop
Sunscreens make up most of this list: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun, SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica and Celimax Oil Control sun care. Celimax also uses vitamin E in its Oil Control essence and cream, and VT in a collagen spicule serum and a lip plumper. All are original Korean products, delivered within 24 hours in Yerevan.
Frequently asked
What does vitamin E do for the skin?
It is an antioxidant and conditioner: it helps protect skin from everyday oxidative stress, supports the barrier and leaves skin softer and smoother.
Why is vitamin E in sunscreen?
UV filters block most of the sun's rays, but some still create free radicals in the skin. Vitamin E helps neutralise them and keeps the formula stable. It does not replace UV filters.
Can I use vitamin E with vitamin C, retinol or acids?
Yes. Vitamins E and C are a classic pair that work better together, and vitamin E has no known conflicts with retinol or acids.
Is vitamin E good for oily or acne-prone skin?
In light formulas, yes. Pure vitamin E oil is heavy and can feel greasy on oily skin, but the small amounts in sunscreens, essences and gel-creams are usually comfortable.
