Turmeric — in skincare

Turmeric

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) root extract is an antioxidant plant ingredient rich in curcuminoids, the compounds behind the spice's golden colour. In skincare it helps skin look brighter and calmer.

What it does for skin

Turmeric helps dull skin look more radiant and calms the look of redness. In the products on this page it is a supporting extract in small amounts, next to the main actives, PDRN and hyaluronic acid, which do most of the hydrating and smoothing.

Who it suits

Dull, dehydrated and tired-looking skin, including sensitive skin, since the amounts are small. If your skin reacts easily, test a new product on a small area first.

How to use it

Follow the Anua PDRN routine morning and evening: toner or a glow pad after cleansing, then the capsule serum, then the cream, with sunscreen on top in the morning. It has no known conflicts with retinol, vitamin C or niacinamide.

Korean products with it at Baseshop

The turmeric products at Baseshop come from Anua's PDRN Hyaluronic Acid 100 range: a booster toner, glow pads, a capsule serum and a moisturizing cream. All are original Korean products, delivered within 24 hours in Yerevan.

Frequently asked

Will turmeric skincare stain my skin yellow?

No. Here turmeric is a minor extract, far below the amount in a homemade turmeric powder mask, which is what can tint skin.

Why is turmeric in a PDRN product?

As an antioxidant partner. PDRN and hyaluronic acid hydrate and help skin look smoother, while turmeric supports a brighter, more even look.

Is turmeric good for acne-prone skin?

It can help calm the look of redness, but in these amounts it will not clear pores. For breakouts, add a BHA or azelaic acid product.
