Dry Skin
Dry Skin — skincare guide
Dry skin makes too little of its own oil, so it needs two things: water-binding ingredients that hydrate, and richer textures that seal moisture in and support the skin barrier. Gentle cleansing and daily sunscreen protect the result.
Signs and needs
Skin feels tight after washing, looks dull or flaky, and fine lines show more around the eyes and mouth. Wind, heating and Yerevan’s dry summers make it worse. Dry skin needs lipids and a steady supply of moisture, not just water.
Key ingredients
Hyaluronic acid and panthenol draw water into the skin. Ceramides, squalane and shea butter refill the lipids that hold it there. You will find them in Round Lab 1025 Dokdo and Birch Juice, SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica and Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid products. The shop has a separate page for each of these ingredients.
A simple routine
In the morning, rinse with water or a mild, low-foam cleanser. Pat on a hydrating toner, in two or three layers if skin feels tight. Follow with a hyaluronic acid or ceramide serum, then a cream with a richer, cushiony texture. Finish with a moisturizing sunscreen SPF 50. In the evening, remove sunscreen with a cleansing oil and repeat the same steps.
What to avoid
Skip hot water, foaming cleansers that leave skin tight, alcohol-heavy toners and daily scrubs. Use exfoliating acids no more than once or twice a week, and introduce retinol slowly and only over well-moisturized skin.
Frequently asked
Which face cream is best for dry skin?
Look for a cream with ceramides, squalane or shea butter combined with hyaluronic acid or panthenol. A thick, cushiony texture suits very dry skin.
Which face mask suits dry skin?
Hydrating sheet masks and overnight masks with hyaluronic acid, panthenol or ceramides. Use them after toner, one to three times a week, and seal them in with cream.
Is my skin dry or dehydrated?
Dry skin lacks oil and feels tight all the time. Dehydrated skin lacks water and can be oily at the same time. Dry skin needs both water and lipids; dehydrated skin mainly needs water-binding ingredients.
Can I use a cleansing oil on dry skin?
Yes. A cleansing oil removes sunscreen and makeup without washing away lipids, so it is often the most comfortable first cleanse for dry skin.
