Aloe Vera — in skincare

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is the gel-like juice of the aloe leaf, one of the most familiar soothing and hydrating plant ingredients. In Korean skincare it adds moisture and a cool, comfortable feel to light formulas.

What it does for skin

Aloe helps skin hold water, so it looks fresher and feels less tight. Its polysaccharides and antioxidants help calm the look of redness after sun or strong actives, without leaving a greasy film.

Who it suits

Oily, combination and dehydrated skin that wants light hydration, sensitive skin, and skin that feels tight after sun. Reactions are rare, but test a new product on a small area if your skin reacts easily.

How to use it

Use aloe morning and evening in any step: cleanser, ampoule, gel cream or mask. It pairs well with every common active, from niacinamide to retinol and acids.

Korean products with it at Baseshop

At Baseshop, aloe mostly appears alongside centella in SKIN1004's Poremizing range for oily skin and visible pores: a cleansing foam, an ampoule, a gel cream and a clay stick mask. Dr. Althea also uses aloe water in a barrier cream. All are original Korean products, delivered within 24 hours in Yerevan.

Frequently asked

Is aloe vera good for oily skin?

Yes. Aloe hydrates without adding oil, so it suits oily and combination skin that feels tight yet shiny.

Can I use aloe vera every day?

Yes, twice a day in cleansers and leave-on products. Clay masks are the exception: use them once or twice a week, even when they contain aloe.

Is aloe in skincare the same as fresh aloe from the plant?

Not quite. Products use purified aloe juice or extract, which is more stable and gentler than raw gel from a home plant, whose yellow sap can irritate.
